Today’s guest post is from John Neus. (Check out the original blog from John.) Does the size of your company really matter? No.

John Neus: The size of your company doesn’t matter, if coding is your business and you demand good service, then you go Dynamsoft.

I believe John have experienced almost all the services of Dynamsoft’s source control tools. Firstly, he was happy with SouceAnywhere for VSS for its great performance remotely. Then after a long holiday, they purchased SourceAnywhere Standalone by mistake. :-) However, they like the new service even better. Because besides the fast performance, the standalone version is also a SQL Server based source control tool. In this article, I add some comments to help you diff these different source control tools from Dynamsoft. And hope you can get one that suites your situation best.

SourceAnywhere for VSS: It is the add-on tool of Visual SourceSafe. The solution is designed to solve the VSS main issues, including poor performance remotely, unreliable security in web environment, doesn’t support cross platform, etc.

John Neus: The first week of the trial it truely delivered more then we expected. It was fast, reliable and very intuitive to setup and did exactly what it was suppose to do. Due to holidays we were only able to test the solution for that week (developers do need long holidays ;-) ). Without asking, Dynamsoft offered to extend our trial! Now that’s great service and we really appreciate the personal approach! A couple of days later our decission was made: SourceAnywhere for VSS it will be.

SourceAnywhere Standalone: It is SQL server-based version control software with seamless integration with Visual Studio, Eclipse, and other IDEs, cross-platform support, and unique caching mechanism for remote performance.

John Neus: The same interface, same perfomance, same experiences except data is now written in SQL Server instead of VSS. We like this a lot and we are using this solution for 1 year now.

John is now evaluating SCM Anywhere. The system is a SQL Server based software configuration management (SCM) which integrates source control, issue tracking and build automation. John, hope you love the product as well, and also thanks for your great feedback. :-)
